Quality Inn Florence

The Quality Inn had free parking, a small workout room and hot tub, complimentary breakfast, and an adequate room. There is no elevators in the two story building. ||The beds were too soft. The decor was dated. The rooms had a small tv, a fridge and microwave, a coffee maker, and iron. There were two sinks, one in the bathroom and a bar sink in the room. ||The room was fairly quiet and clean. It was a good deal for the price point. The staff were wonderful.

The entire experience was poor. It appears this hotel is trying to make cosmetic improvements but still has a long way to go. The first room we were assigned, the toilet had no running water to it. One would think the housekeeping would have identified this when they got our room ready. The second room we were assigned, after a day of us being gone all day on the coast, the sink had backed up and was filled with sewer water. The on property guest services person and the maintenance person attempted to unplug it, first with a snake, then with a plunger. Nothing worked so they tried to remove the P trap underneath and backed up sewer water started streaming into the room and on the floor. He immediately tightened it back up to stop the flow of water. It was a very clean, comfortable room and the folks were polite. This time there were no trucks running all night outside. Quality Inn Florence is used by several companies with workers needing a clean comfortable reliable place to stay. These standards meet my requirements. If I were traveling with my wife we would probably stay at a fancier place with a view and much higher cost per night.

This location has a stellar staff. Christine and her husband anchor with utmost companion. Rooms, Maintenance issues, Checkin are all amazing. Thanks for everything. Couple ideas to make Handicap rooms nicer: A desk a little higher for wheelchair access. To low to roll under. Bathroom vanity height is perfect. Replace worn out entry lock near 120's room area. We were all stacked up several mornings waiting for someone inside to open doors. None of our keys worked,

1st room got assigned to toilet didn't work. Then 2nd room we got after being gone all day come back to the room and the sewer was backed up in our sink. It was smelling. They tried to fixed but maintenance said that we needed a different room. No more rooms were available in the hotel. We ended up having to go to a different hotel at our own expenses. General manager refused to provide any assistance since unsanitary conditions in room. Got a call later that evening after we had moved to a different hotel we would get reimbursed for that night.
