Quality Inn Clarksdale

We didn't stay there the past 2 years because of the poor quality of the rooms and the building, BUT they have improved the property and rooms over that time. I'm glad they are taking care of the property and I'm glad I came back to stay this year over the Thanksgiving holiday. Several of our family from other states stayed there as well and I didn't hear any complaints on the rooms this year. The only down side was the breakfast, the sausage was dry, but I didn't see as many people in the breakfast room like I used to so, the food didn't get turned over like it would if they were busier. The waffle machine was out of order, but that was probably because someone didn't use spray before starting since there was A LOT of waffle left on the maker. Good pricing, clean and comfortable. Staff was great. Even the breakfast was good as besides the usual cereal and waffles they had eggs and sausage. Great place to stay. Only downside is we had to ask for clean towels after the 2nd day.

We only booked 3 hours earlier - so was relieved they had an available room. The motel felt safe, plenty of parking & a 10 minute drive to the iconic Ground Zero Blues Club. The price was ok for a Saturday night. I gave the room 4 stars as the air conditioner must have been leaking as the carpet surrounding that, was damp. Everything else was clean & working.

First, when we arrived, we were given a room that was obviously being restored. The ammonia or bleach smell made your eyes water and your throat hurt. There was a dehumidifier running at high speed. We immediately went to the front desk and were given a different room. Our 2nd room was better, but had its own problems. The light over the bathroom sink did not work and the tv was very challenging to operate. But the real problem started the 2nd night. Around 1 AM, the low battery warning on the smoke alarm above the bed started chirping. It would loudly chirp several times about every 30-45 minutes and then stop. This went on until around 6:30 AM. I reported this when I checked out and the clerk said “I’m sorry.” but nevered offered any form of compensation for the sleepless night.

The customer service from Ms Mona was very nice. She thoroughly explained everything from the check in to the check out. I’m from the area therefore we’ve stayed here several times before and had some issues which had us skeptical on booking again. Ms Mona reassured us things had gotten better and we noticed that, from the outside to the inside top to bottom.
