Powderhorn Cabins

I had a fantastic time & experience during my 5 day stay at PowderHorn Cabins in October 2025 and achieved the ultimate trophy, a 6 x 6 Bull Elk on a nearby ranch. Although it was the hunting season & there weren't any vacancies when I called the hosts in August, they were flexible, communicative, and worked hard to meet my request!! They were able to reserve a rustic cabin & along with my "hunting buddy", truly enjoyed our stay with warm showers, making coffee in the morning, & sharing stories with a cold brew in the evening! Great People & Great Times!

I was instantly transported back to the experience of trips to family friendly campgrounds when I was a child. The cabins are rustic and lend themselves to community gathering in the kitchen. We stayed in a cabin with 4 beds that slept 7 people (with 6 sharing regular size beds). But the rooms to the bedrooms had dividers to keep out light and some noise. If you were an early riser you could get your coffee and hang out at the kitchen table without waking your cabin mates. There was no running water, bathroom or coffee supplies in the cabin we were in, but there is a microwave, stove, coffeemaker, basic cooking supplies, heat and bedding (which I understand is not always provided, so check). The cabin hosts were amazing, as were the public areas where you could hang out and play yard

Can't say enough good things about Powderhorn Cabins. First of all, the owner/owners were incredibly accommodating and easy to work with. Very personable, especially given they had been dealing with a loss in the family the day we arrived. When we first called them the night it was on a whim because we had to make some last minute adjustment to our plans and move from a different establishment. Powderhorn had a nice little 3 room cabin (slept 8-10) available for our group and we spoke for it. It cost us less than $200/night without tax. On the night we arrived, we were running quite a bit behind schedule and they were considerate enough to reach out to check on us. We hosted our wedding party here. The staff is so friendly and super accommodating, cabins were clean and cozy. This place has everything you need for an awesome weekend! Thank you to Hallie, Luke & the rest of the Powderhorn crew!

Our first time visiting. This is a very cool place. The scenery is gorgeous. Great trails for ATV. The cabins are rustic, primitive and very quaint. They have laundry and showers on site. Have already planned a return visit. Definitely worth checking out.
