We stayed here twice. The first time it was $650 a month. We stayed all of spring and summer. The lot was getting muddy in front of door and he had gravel delivered to the spot next to us. So I asked him if he could put some down in our spot and he said to me it was my problem and to figure it out. And when i asked him if i could move to a spot in the back of the campground that was graveled in he told me i was just fine rite where i was. So I had to go to lowes and buy gravel my self. And before we left in the fall he raised his price $50 on everyone. We left in the fall for three months and when we came back he charged us $750 a month so he raised his price another $50 while we were gone. There's no bathrooms, no showers, no pool, no picnic areas, no dog park, no playground, he has noth
The park is quiet. However, I think it is too expensive for what it offers. It is a basic park. It has no laundry, no bathrooms, in summer they don't cut the grass frequently, they let the grass grow long enough to cut it which makes it very buggy. It seems to me that the charge is excessive per additional week.
Best campground and RV park near Roanoke Rapids, NC is in Weldon, NC! The owner, Greg, is awesome! I highly recommend this park, if your passing through or need a place to settle in for a week or a few months. A gem just off I-95.
First the positives: 1) availability, no need to even reserve, perhaps not the case in April during striper bass run in the Roanoke river; 2) good number of shady sites; 3) plenty of full service sites (50A service only though). The negatives: 1) no bath house; 2) sites not paved or gravelled, they are either grass or muddy messes; 3) advertise $40/day (which is on the high side for what they offer) then when you get there they charge an additional $5/day if you use heat or A/C; 4) the owner/manager Greg appears nice until there is a problem then he is very unhelpful. I left a tool on the site and it took 3 phone calls before he would answer, then he was very defensive claiming that he had looked for the tool and could not find it and that no one in the campground would take it b
Perfect for what it is. We pulled in late on New Years Eve and while they were closed we were able to setup and settle with the owner in the morning after a very long drive. Full hook-ups and pull through spaces, right off I-95. Owner is very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend if you need a place to stop over for a night or two.
