Econo Lodge Weldon - Roanoke Rapids

After renovating everything seems great, but definitely rooms need to be cleaned better. Front desk was nice and helpful. First room had sticky floors, water splashes randomly, mirror dirty, sink dirty, shower dirty, hair all over sink, ice bucket and shower. Tried switching rooms, but 2nd room looked the same. Also smelled bad like cigarettes. Would have nothing to complain about besides cleanliness.

Upon arrival, I discovered that the main lobby was closed due to ongoing construction, and guests were required to check in at a window located outside near the front desk area. Unfortunately, this check-in area was adjacent to the construction zone, and as a result, my jacket, purse, and clothing became stained with paint residue. Once inside my room, I noticed that the entry light did not function properly. The furniture appeared mismatched, and the television was unevenly mounted to the wall using a piece of wood. I have stayed at Econo Lodge properties before and have always had positive experiences; however, this particular stay was disappointing. This motel will be considered substandard by most people that wish to pursue an overnight stay with them. I am not going to be too critical because this was just an overnight stay for me, on my way home. But, I will never stay here again, there are other places in the price range and in this part of the I-95 corridor that are much nicer.||||This property appears to be under some sort of renovation. At check out, I saw the room status report at the front desk. My guess is that they rent about 15 rooms per night with the rest of the rooms at the property being closed for renovation. I know that renovation is in progress because I experienced grinding sounds and other construction sounds when I checked in, just above my head.

This motel appears to be currently undergoing an upgrade, but the room smelled like sewage. The bed was comfortable!! The A/C was functional but didn’t seem to be working properly. My husband asked the clerk about the continental breakfast that was listed on the booking website, but was told there was no breakfast provided. When my husband asked about coffee, he was told coffee would be available at 7:00am. We are very early risers and waited patiently until 7:00am only to find the lobby locked and no coffee. After riding around town and experiencing every fast food restaurant closed as well, we returned to the motel. The lobby opened around 8:00am and had coffee!! The 2 days I stayed there I couldn’t shower or take a bath. The bathroom flooded with backed up dirty toilet water. It was all over the floor. I told staff they said they couldn’t do anything until the next morning. I couldn’t get in contact with anyone at the front desk when the toilet was overflowing at 5am. I have stayed here and NEVER IN MY LIFE have I had this bad experience. I probably won’t be staying here ever again and I won’t be recommending it to my family when they go to Weldon NC to visit the rapids. UNEXCEPTIONABLE
