We have been coming up to PPR for the past 20+ years with our large family. We stay in the main and upper lodge for a long weekend and really enjoy everything about it! It works really well for our family between fishing, shopping, prepping meals, playing card games, visiting and enjoying each other's company. It is a great place with great staff taking care of us every year. Here is to another 20 years, Thank you PPR for great memories! :)
Friendly staff, clean amenities, quiet, and plenty for the kids to do. We stayed the weekend in our travel trailer. The kids loved playing on the playground and on the beach. Hackensack and Walker are a short drive away if you’d like to grab food or drinks and the Paul Bunyan bike trail is great!
If you have just purchased a Scamp and want a place close enough to run through the systems and be close enough for adjustments, this is a good place to stay. Serene and nostalgic feeling, like you expect that it felt the same 50 or 60 years ago camping there. Much tree cover. Quiet nights. Well mown in proper areas. Deep lake views as well as quiet waters with bullrushes and ducks.
Jeff the camp host was great did a great job on top of it I would say the best in a long time We come here 5 -6 times a year for over 30 years hope jeff is back next year not like a few years back confusion on site who is in and out of reserved spot
Quiet campground. There is a nice playground for the kiddos. Kayaks, paddle boats, and canoes to use. Boat launch and docks to moor your boat are available. Lots of people here did a lot of fishing. We don't fish, so we can't say much about that. The sites are a bit unlevel. On some sites, the power box is a bit of a distance away, so you may need an extension power cord. The manager may have available, but it is best to have one. Water hose same on some sites, not all. No sewer hookups. Dumpsite available for a fee. Swim beach with swim pads is also available. We did not swim during our stay. All in all was a good stay. We stayed 5 days.
