Pierre Inn & Suites

Pierre Inn and Suites are now under new management and are in the process of being refurbished. I gave it 2 stars for now but like I said it is being refurbished and the rating will go up. The rooms will be furnished with new furniture and ready to be moved to but it may take awhile before it gets a good name

I've stayed at this hotel annually for many years - dating back to when it was the IronHorse Inn. My expectations are low but they accommodate dogs, the location is handy (easy walk to DakotaMart) and you can back your car up to the room door.||But this visit brought a new low. I opened the door to discover the usual: two beds, flat pillows, dirty and barely hanging on heater vents, very limited access to power outlets. But on this room I had some additional surprises. The ceiling over the shower was moldy, sagging down and flaking debris into the tub. There was no telephone to call the front desk, so I had to use my cell to call the main number and talk to them that way. There was no coffee maker in the room - but had one delivered later. I was a month to month resident here at the nicest suite they had available. I resided there for four months. I was an excellent tenant that kept to myself and paid my bills. I left the apartment in better condition than when I moved in. When I moved in I spent several hours cleaning the bathroom, kitchen sink, counters and sweeping cockroaches off the floors and from under the furniture and fireplace. I moved out in December. I am still waiting to receive my $800 deposit back. I have contacted the owner several times and have been more than kind and understanding towards them as they have given me the run around. I am now proceeding to file a claim against them, as they have by far exceeded the 45 days allotted to them by the SD state legislator for which to return my deposit. The owners

Honestly the worst place we have ever stayed. Had to leave without saying the night & the one thing i will say is that we got a 50% refund when we left. The smoke smell in the room was unbearable, used condom box under the bed, toilet not flushed, no TP, door stuck, etc. Could not make it more than 2 hours & that’s saying something.

Stayed one night and that was more than enough! The main sleeping area was alright but you sure didn't want to use the bathroom. It was filthy, the toilet hadn't been cleaned in who knows how long, there were dead and living bugs in the bathroom and the floor in the bathroom was filthy to the point I took my sandals in with me so I didn't have to touch the floor after my shower. I was very disappointed in this hotel. The staff was fine but the manager should check the work of his staff to be sure things are cleaned, he was not surprised when I told him the bathroom was filthy and had bugs in it. I wouldn't recommend staying there.
