Pagosa Lodge

Positive: Room was big. Kid at the front desk was nice. Negative: Sketchy, smelly, crusty, dirty, old. You pay 3 star price for 1 star experience. They had a sign saying new pool coming soon, maybe should put that money into cleaning up the place and doing some renovations.

I stayed for 6 days. After the second day I never saw anyone at the front desk. There was no Internet. This was a serious problem since I was there on business. No one told me that there was no Internet service before I got there. The breakfast was cereal and a waffle machine. I was excited to see that there was a yogurt machine, until I figured out that it didn’t work. So my “free” breakfast was useless because I had to go somewhere else to get something every day. The one bright spot and the only reason that I did not give this one star is because the cleaning staff was amazing. The rooms were clean, although there was a horrible smell of dirty dog throughout the hallway and the lobby. If I could have gotten a refund, I would’ve left on the first night.

Hotels about 50 years old so dont expect all the bells and whistles, this place is trying to carry on the tradition and do big things I recommend it to anyone who stays in the area. If you want to stay at a place with a true rustic mountain feel it's for you! Breakfast could have been better but I'm sure they're working on that as well. Outstanding front desk service some of the coolest realest people I've met in a long time.

I booked a stay at this lodge. I never received a email confirmation so I began attempting to reach out. I could never get a reply by email and no phone number I called was ever answered. It was like the office was never opened. I finally booked my stay at another hotel. On the day I arrived in Pagosa I received a email stating since I did not arrive they were going to charge my card for a night. I replied immediately to the email and never received a call or email back. What I did get was a credit card charge and a email stating they hoped I enjoyed my stay. Please, do yourself a favor and avoid this venue at all cost.

When we drove up the outside appearance was concerning, but once inside those feeling were gone. My wife was happy with the room. Spacious and clean. We decided to spend an extra night to indulge in the mineral spas downtown
