Olympic Lodge by Ayres

I plan my trips to Olympic National Park around staying at Olympic Lodge! The location is perfect for accessing the coast, hiking, and exploring the park, but what really sets this place apart is the staff. Every experience I’ve had here has been consistently positive. The front desk genuinely goes above and beyond, which feels rare these days. On this trip, I mentioned over the phone that I’d be hiking, and when I checked in they had already printed out detailed information about Olympic National Park, including hike recommendations based on current weather conditions. That level of thoughtfulness made a huge difference in my trip. Daphne was especially helpful; super friendly, proactive, and clearly someone who cares about guests having a great experience. This is a great lodge that has a wonderful and very customer focus staff. Even Cory Irwin the General Manager and Shannon Ledford the Assistant General Manager provide excellent customer service. Every where you look you see fantastic photos in the hallways. The grand lobby is by itself a marvel to be in with the large wood burning fireplace. Off the grand lobby is an outdoor heated with a hot tub which was open even in late November. The lodge reminds you the great European lodges except very modern. The guest rooms are quiet and exceptionally clean. The beds are fantastic to sleep in. We normally try to find an Air B&B when we visit Port Angeles but for this visit we couldn't find something reasonably priced so we opted for the Olympic Lodge where we spent 4 nights. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. There are beautifully furnished lounge/sitting areas on both the first and second floors. Rooms on the back side of the lodge open to a beautifully landscaped patio with a water feature that provides a calm, quiet place to sit out and relax. Beyond the patio area is a golf course which adds to the tranquil environment. The free buffet breakfast is open from 6 - 10 AM with many options including fresh fruit. Love, love, love Olympic Lodge!! It was our first time staying here & will not be our last. The lodge is beautiful. Rooms are nicely appointed and I have never slept so well in a hotel in my life. Wow! Hot tub was great after a rainy, chilly November day exploring Olympic National Park (just be careful getting out, I took a few steps and almost fell because the flooring was so slippery). Location was great and central to lots of activities for us. There is a Starbucks across the street. Unfortunately (for me) I did not care for the decaf coffee provided in the room, but made up for it by grabbing something from Starbucks.
