Old Corundum Millsite Campground

I started camping at Old Corundum Millsite Campground when I was a teenager - about 45 years ago. To me, there is no other place like it. I have developed so many memories and met so many wonderful people there throughout the years. It has become a second home for my wife and me as we now have a permanent site there. We look forward to spending as much time there as we can every year. It is very close to Franklin and Highlands, both great places to visit. We love to drive up towards Highlands and spend time by all of the waterfalls. It's my favorite place in the entire world.

Old Corundum mill site campground is our favorite place to spend our summers. We have been coming here since 1989. It is like an extension of our family! Friendly and wonderful management along with a quiet environment. Fellow campers are great friends from all over the USA. Franklin, NC has so much to offer those who visit here!! The Old Corundum Millsite Campground,,, what a wonderful experience. Pat Murphy was the perfect host/owner. The RV hook-up was flawless, the neighbors were friendly, the river was clean with many fishing. The bathroom/showers are spotless, limitless hot water. Just what's needed after long day.

Very small sites. Electric and water hookups. WiFi provided. Kind and attentive people. Most sites seem to be privately owned. Few rental sites. Bathhouse was fairly clean, but severly dated and in need of some fresh paint and maintenance. The bird songs are a constant choir of God's nature. Beautiful.

The kids and I had traveled to Franklin on an overnight excursion and were looking for a place to put up a tent. Our original campground just wasn't going to pan out and we called late in the afternoon. Kathy was very cordial and met us with a smile and handshake. The scenery is excellent even being tucked in right behind all the RVs. This campground is set more for long-term pseudo-residential type "camping" but has several spots for tents. Everyone was very friendly and neighborly. Definitely worth another trip here.
