Ogallala / I-80 KOA Journey

The KOA Campground in Ogallala, Nebraska is an excellent stopover and truly one of the nicest campgrounds I’ve stayed at. The grounds are clean, well-kept, and thoughtfully designed for comfort and convenience. Our site had a beautiful patio area with a grill, which made it feel more like a backyard getaway than just a place to park.||A huge bonus for pet owners—some sites even have great dog kennels built in, which made it super easy and comfortable for traveling with our pup. That extra touch really sets this campground apart.||The staff was welcoming and helpful, making check-in quick and easy. The amenities are top-notch—plenty of shade, good Wi-Fi, level sites, and easy access for both RVs and campers. It’s also in a great location, close to Lake McConaughy and just off I-80, yet stil

We just rolled in about 5 minutes ago and thank you so much already! We had decided to stay at the Walmart lot, even called ahead to check. It was a dirt lot already full of trucks. The I-80 koa was right down the road and very welcoming. Very helpful. I haven't even gotten out of the rig yet and it's stars from me Clean and pretty, and well groomed. The office was polite and helpful. Glad to be here😀

This park is owned by a nice younger couple who are just trying to make a living so I’m not happy to give them a less-than-stellar review. There are few amenities that would bring someone there for a vacation – it’s just an overnight parking spot with fairly new facilities. Unfortunately, the owners made a very poor choice for a location. Yes, it’s convenient just off I-80, but it is literally a stone’s throw from I-80 traffic as well as a busy train track very nearby. We aren’t usually bothered by those noises because our coach is well sound protected, but this location is bad in that regard. Worse yet, because of the current construction on I-80, semi tractors are using their engine brakes 24-7 to slow down in the construction zone, and that noise is even louder than the trains. Th

We booked this just minutes before arrival when our site at Lake Ogallala State Park was inaccessible due to trees. The staff in the office was AMAZING and super helpful in getting us booked and greeting us with a warm welcome. The park is very clean, well run and the sites are very spacious. The have a great dog play/potty area with artificial turf and it's kept spotless. Easy on/off from I-80 and it's right down the road from the TA Truck stop so it's convenient to fuel up on the way in or out. If we were in the area again, I would definitely stay here and recommend for rigs of any size especially big rigs that don't fit in the nearby State parks.

One night stay. No problems checking in. They guided us to our site. The traffic noise didn't bother us. It usually doesn't bother me because I wear earplugs anyway thanks to my husband's snoring. Easy in and out. Wide sites. Playground for the kids Fenced in area for the other kiddos (dogs). Convenient location off I-80. Gravel sites, but this is one of the nicer Journeys we've been to as far as convenience is concerned. Would stay again.
