Ocean Plaza Motel

I recently stayed there for 2 nights and had a great time. My room was clean and comfortable. The front desk workers were nice; they even let me store my luggage behind the desk so I wouldn’t have to carry it around all day. My smoke detector was disabled when I got up to my room, but the maintenance guy came up and fixed it immediately. Housekeeping here was also great! The room was fully stocked with an ample amount of towels, wash clothes, and toilet paper the whole trip. Honestly, the motel appears run down from the outside, but the room was great and in my experience the staff was fantastic as well.

Positive: Front desk clerk was friendly and tried to be informative. Negative: The smell of the room was both cigarette smelling and moldy. Woke up with my eyes running fluid all morning. Whole patches in the shower. Was not oceanfront like I ordered. I had to walk to there sister hotel next door for ice. Next morning office closed.

Budget friendly! Ocean front and in a great location. Rooms were clean and comfortable, it was spring break so there was some loud crowds up late. Staff was wonderful! The front desk lady Mickalia was very friendly and helpful, and she made mine and my sons stay for his cheer competition very pleasant! Indoor pool was very cold but there was a hot tub to enjoy.

The ocean view meant nothing once we saw the state of the room. The sliding door wouldn’t open, the bed was filthy with hair and debris, the shower didn’t drain, and the carpet was absolutely disgusting—our socks turned black just from walking on it. If we had a baby or young kids with us, I would be terrified of what they’d be exposed to. This room was a health hazard, plain and simple. We checked out immediately, but instead of apologizing, the manager argued with me until I mentioned the health department. We ended up renting a room down the street for the same price, and it was night and day—clean, updated, amazing pools, ocean-facing room, and great on-site amenities. Do not rent from Ocean Plaza at all. Spend the extra couple of dollars elsewhere and save your health.

Very dirty and small room without a view of anything but the trash cans and the parking lot. There was mold in the shower as well. Both of us have a weird cough now after staying a couple days. There were flies through the room because of the trash outside as we were placed on the first floor despite requesting a room with a balcony and paying extra for that luxury. If we had known that wasn’t an option we wouldn’t have stayed here. Disappointing place. Check in, as many others have stated, took 30-40 minutes. My boyfriend agrees with the review on here that mentioned the clerk being “out of it.” We witnessed cockroaches running across the window on the outside which was unsettling but we didn’t notice any in our room.
