We love North Star. It’s one of the hotels we regularly stay at whenever we are in Killington over the years. It’s not fancy and needs a little updating but it’s perfect to rest, location is convenient on the access road, great heated outdoor pool, and we LOVE The Starlight Lounge. Fantastic bar with simple but very tasty food and both Dan and John are always wonderful to see whenever we stop by the bar. They have live music on weekends and there is also free coffee in the morning. We didn’t get top floor room this time so it was a little noisier than usual so I recommend asking for the 5th floor if you can. Can’t wait to visit again!
Rooms were a bit warm (for my liking) and the TV cut out of internet occasionally. But the staff were super friendly, the pool is basically a hot tub, and the location can't be beat! The bar had great drinks/food and a nice hot fire to relax after a long day of hitting the slopes
The only positive:|Location||The hotel looks good on the outside, but it definitely needs an overhaul on the inside.|We were given room 401 which was really not nice. First to get to the room, we took the elevator. The carpet was disgustingly dirty and the elevator licensed expired in January of 2025. Sometimes it takes 3-4 months to get the paperwork for the new license, but not 10 months. The room was spacious but outdated. The ceiling in the bathroom was flaking and peeling off. The shower knobs were covered in a white substance and it had a shower curtain that could have been bought at the .99 cent store. The drain in the sink was backed up and I spoke to the front desk about it and they just shrugged. The door rattled every time someone walked by as it didn't line up properly.||I woul
Positive: The location is great for those interested in skiing at Killington. It was one of the least expensive hotels in the area. Negative: You get what you pay for. No housekeeping for 5 days. The room walls are very "thin". You could hear room doors slamming. I can't imagine being able to sleep if kids were running around and adults were over-indulging. Thankfully, it was a very quiet week!
I really wish I could give this a better review but unfortunately our stay was not the best. When we first walked in, we noticed our blinds were broken and it didn’t look the cleanest but it was fine since we didn’t plan to stay in the rooms much. However after our first night, we woke up with awful hip, shoulder, and back pain from the awful, uncomfortable mattresses. Mind you the 3 of us are under 30. The bathroom was ok but our tub had a hole in it and the water had a weird well smell. The thing that threw us over the edge was the garbage we kept finding throughout the room on our first night. None of it was stuff we used so clearly they didn’t even vacuum well. We shared our concerns with the front desk and the sweetest lady Jackie seemed so disappointed in our experience 😭 we felt SO
