Inn at Long Trail

5 stars all around. You don’t find many places like this inn. The value you get is unmatched, a cozy place to stay along with an amazing breakfast included. The attached pub has great food and pints after a long day on the trails. Family run for years and you can tell the love and care put into this establishment.

We had never stayed at this Inn before. We would always stop in for Guinness and live music during ski trips. This time we made reservations. I might be biased because I am Irish and and just came back from a trip to Ireland. Inn at Long Trail reminded me of our stay there. The food was delicious and comforting. The staff was amazingly helpful, genuine and friendly. It was laid back, relaxing, cozy, rustic and comfortable. The live music was delightful. The rooms were well insulated and quiet. If you truly want to chill and get back to reality this is the place for you. My husband and I enjoyed the fireplace in our room as well as the games and books in the main room. I wish I could leave a positive review, but my experience with this inn was disappointing. I booked a room for my family three weeks in advance through their online site, which showed at least four rooms available. I received a confirmation email, so I assumed everything was set. Later, my husband received a missed call from the inn with no message. When he called back, he was told the room I booked was not available and was offered a different room at a price over $200 higher than my original reservation. When I called to ask how this could happen, I was told they take reservations both online and by phone and “can’t always update the system,” so availability shown online may not be accurate. If that’s the case, they should not offer online booking—it’s misleading and unfair to customers

Want to start by saying we sincerely LOVED this place but also wanna be honest about what could be better. Want to be clear that my husband and I loved this place and will definitely be back because the good outweighed the not even bad but could be better. Want to be transparent about what people might not like because reviews are for people to make a decision about if it’s for them. We stayed two nights. The cozy Irish feel from the second you walk in had me instantly hooked. I don’t even want to try to describe it because trust me if you love rustic Irish cottage you will love it. We stayed on the 3rd floor. I think the second floor has larger windows to look out at the gorgeous views. Very simple rooms, no TV but WiFi worked fine despite what other reviews have said. Had a really good stay in September, thanks for the hiker rate and free breakfast! Will be back for another month in the best of Vermont! Loved all the trail magic, what a special place! Also walking distance from Gifford woods state park!
