Nisswa Hotel and Suites

I wasn't aware the hotel was under construction. The Expedia booking showed the pool crossed off. My non-smoking room had plenty of old smoke in it. I believe there's well water, which i cant use for bathing. My room was dusty and dirty. I won't stay here again, even after construction/remodel is done.

Booked a room at Nisswa Inn & Suites for a one night stay while on a family road trip. Having two young kids, we chose this hotel because they had a pool and free continental breakfast. Boy, do I wish I would have read the reviews here first! Upon arrival, there was a hand written note on the front door stating that the pool and hot tub were closed and there was no continental breakfast. There was no mention of this on the website or in the confirmation email when we booked. The condition of the hotel was also very different than it appeared in photos. Very old and run down. Since we were nearly 24 hours past the cancellation window, I figured we would have to make the best of it so we checked in anyway. We arrived to our room and the disappointment continued. There was a horrible mildewy

Check-in was said to be 4pm, but when we arrived at 5 it still wasn’t ready. Breakfast is advertised, but they only have coffee. Hot tub is out of order. Rooms need updating and there were dead bugs on bathroom floor as well as window ledge. Beds were comfy and AC worked well.

After checking in, we were informed that the pool and hot tub were out of order. I asked about a discounted room rate as we had chosen this hotel specifically for the pool. The reply was "you already got a great price". The hotel is in need of a lot of regular upkeep, such as paint, bedding, cleaning, and all of the furniture showing a great deal of wear. The continental breakfast consisted of coffee, powered creamer, and 5 little individually packaged snack cakes. No juice, no toast, and no cereal.

This hotel is absolutely horrendous. I’m not extremely picky when it comes to hotels and usually will sleep on any bed without a problem. However, this was another level. Check in time took 45 minutes, but that really wasn’t the receptionist fault. It was her first day. When she gave me a room key, I went to the room with my 3 young children (5,4,1) and I opened the door and made a shriek when I walked into a room SOMEONE WAS LIVING IN. It was stuffed full from floor to ceiling with stuff and food boxes all over. I should have left right then and there. But, instead I got another room. The new room smelt so bad. It smelt like cat pee and and extremely musty. We left smelling like it. The bed I slept on was broke in the middle and everytime I moved, the springs would creek. I felt so dirty
