My Place Hotel-Yakima, WA

We walked into our room, and the first thing I noticed was that the laminate near the door was sticky. As we were getting settled, it honestly seemed like nothing was wiped down at all. There were lots of crumbs and obvious stuff on the walls that should've been cleaned. There's no drain plug for the bathtub, so good luck giving your kids a bath--not sure if I even want to since nothing else seems sanitized. We've stayed at My Place Hotels before, and there were no folded blankets on the beds either like usual. Almost seems like we were given an uncleaned room. Not impressed with this location at all, and now I'm paranoid by all the reviews talking about bed bugs 🤢

We had a mixed experience with the My Place. I’ve listed the pro’s and con’s below. But with the number of hotels in Yakima, we won’t choose to stay here again. ||Pro’s|- The employees. The front desk workers were friendly, helpful and just all together great people. Always had a smile and always ready to help. |-The cleaning staff. The gals that we bumped into cleaning the rooms were so, so sweet and so hard working. And let’s just say they definitely had their work cut out for them in some of the rooms. But they had a great attitude and were very helpful if we ever needed extra towels or anything. |-Each room has a fridge, two burner stovetop and sink/cupboard area. |-The location is close to the Sundome (we were in town for the state basketball tournament). ||Con’s|-They provide governm

Positive: the fenced area for our dog and the recliner in the room for me Negative: I found the bed to be too firm for my taste, but the recliner worked for sleeping

While checking in there was a tweaker in the lobby and staff was annoyed but not doing anything about it. Call the cops for an escort out? Upon getting to room there was brown dirty stuff on the sheets. I called down asking for new sheets and they said sure but I had to come down to get them. No apologies or anything. Bad service. Felt unclean and fridge was so loud it woke me up at 4am and I’m a heavy sleeper.

This was my last hotel in an over 4K mile trip and it was THE best hotel in my entire trip. The room was so large and accommodating for me and my two small dogs. I grabbed a couple of sodas from the hotel store, ordered some delivery food and relaxed for the night. I will definitely be staying at this location in Yakima when I return to visit.
