Moxy Charleston Downtown

From the moment we walked into the lobby we were welcomed with open arms. The staff took the time to tell us all about the best places to go and even provided us with a day by day itinerary. We were welcomed with lemonade when we arrived and complimentary coffee in the morning. There is a Starbucks on site if your a bucks person. We got in later so decided to stay at the hotel for dinner. We enjoyed our two free special welcome moxy cocktails. We had chicken Caesar salads and nachos and enjoyed a simply incredible view from the rooftop patio. We also took in a couple rounds of corn hole while we enjoyed cocktails. The rooms are very trendy and we loved that because it’s a change from the every day norm. I loved the “stash”. What a great idea. Also a shout out for the steamers I. The rooms.

So, sorry if this is long but bear with me on this one. First person I met was Sam at the front desk. Sam is simply the best checkin experience you will have. I travel often and I wish her enthusiasm and charm could be duplicated. When you arrive you will pull into the building carport with goes thur the building and met with a valet with a smile, did not get his name but her was great. After that you will go to the sixth floor and meet Sam, (if she is working, Should Geta raise),,,,, she will check you in and give you local options for dining as well as how to get where you want to go. After that go to the room and get settled. Room was cute and clean, simple decor with an intentionality for simplicity and style. The room was small but adequate. Positive: I liked everything they had accessible in the hotel. I like the bar the food that was always available to order the rooftop exterior relaxation . I like the staff area Negative: I didn't like the location too much I kind of imagined it being more fancy if you will but it was not so fancy

We stayed at the Moxy Hotel in Charleston for our 13-year anniversary and had an incredible experience. I called ahead to set up a surprise in the room for my husband, and the receptionist was genuinely excited to help and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfectly ready before we arrived. Not only did they do a beautiful setup with rose petals, champagne, and candlelight, but they also wrote a personalized note from Jen, which made it even more special. Everyone we interacted with was extremely kind and welcoming. The vibe of the hotel was immaculate — fun, modern, and thoughtfully designed. I had made the mistake of reading recent reviews & lowering my expectations. I had a lovely stay at this hotel at all points from the warm welcome with the valet when I arrived, the greeting as I checked in, the complimentary beverage from the bar, great night’s sleep, easy checkout, and a great send off when the valet returned my car to me. The room was perfect for my one night. The little touches mean everything from the art in the room (which I pulled one to put in my office- thanks, Moxy!), decor (loved the pastel lighting with one of the lamps by the bed, the cool Marset lamp, the pink hair dryer with attachment, the steamer, and even a dark washcloth to remove makeup! I enjoyed the minimalist approach and felt welcomed and relaxed during my stay. The decor was exquisite and elegant.
