Mount Evans State Wildlife Area

Didn't bother to read all the signs on the way in--apparently you need a hunting or fishing license to be on the property. I guess the state parks pass on my car registration doesn't work here!! Can't even let the dog run loose wither. We each got tickets from the park ranger and had to cancel our picnic for the day. Won't be coming back.

Trails are terrible no good views. Apparently you need a State Wildlife Area pass to be on the property (including driving). The park ranger wrote me and my wife $139 dollar tickets EACH!! We even had our state parks pass registered to our car, but were told those are not valid here. Tried to fight them in court and lost and ended up paying more in court fees. We will not be back and I’d suggest not wasting your time, there isn’t much to see

Very cool place to go hike. You do need either a day pass or a fishing license to be in the area.

The signs say that everyone needs a hunting or fishing license to enter the property.
