Motel 6 Williams, AZ – Downtown – Grand Canyon

I was skeptical about this Motel 6 due to past negative reviews on Google, but I took a chance due to the affordability and had no complaints whatsoever. It was clean and peaceful. I stayed with family and booked 2 seperate rooms, we had absolutely no issue with cleanliness in either room. The location is convenient and safe. There's a Safeway right across the street and plenty of places to eat within walking distance. There's a dog area. Overall really good value for what you pay.

We booked two rooms for two couples. The first room smelled so badly, that even after mopping the floor, the smell was so intense, that they could only sleep with the windows open. In the second room the bed sheets were not clean, with dirt and hairs on the pillows and the sheets. We got new sheets after asking twice. Of course we made our bed ourself. The staff were so ridiculously unhelpful and impolite. They said it is our mistake and we have to deal with it. Sadly, a very bad experience and I would recommend everyone to avoid this motel even if it’s only for one night. Although, the answers from the hotel to these bad reviews seem to be understanding, these a just empty words.

I called them several times but no response even with you for refund status.

Good night’s sleep in huge comfortable bed. We thought the bright lighting was terrific. There were also bedside plugs for charging phones. Slightly odd room setup with the sink just outside the bathroom and shower, which is clearly visible in hindsight, in the photos. They supplied 2 bars of soap, but bring shampoo. (In fairness, we may have been able to ask reception for it, as it’s part of the room description. We’d had a heads up from another review.) Good free coffee in the morning was very welcome. The proper takeaway cups and lids proved VERY convenient and were really thoughtful, because many are getting straight into a car. We reused those cups several times during our roadtrip! We checked into the Motel 6 Williams Downtown Grand Canyon (620 W Route 66, Williams, AZ 86046) on December 4, 2025, for a planned stay through December 12, 2025, with two rooms booked. From the moment we arrived, there was no hot water in either room. My husband, who was on a hunting trip, had to take cold showers for several days. When I inquired at the front desk, a staff member (wearing a medical mask) informed me that multiple guests had reported the same issue. He said the "owner" had been notified and that someone was being sent to fix the water heaters, but there was no prior communication about this problem to guests.
