Motel 6 Silver City, NM

One of the more spartan accommodations I've been to. There is a tiny desk and no table or bureau to set things on. No carpet or upholstered surfaces to harbor dirt or bugs. A few things need attention, including the shower diverter (Did not divert completely), the outlet next to the bed which doesn't have a cover plate on it, and a TV with 8 local channels and very bad sound, and no cold water from the bathroom sink tap (lukewarm to hot, again a problem with The mixer cartridge). The towels were small. However, the microwave and refrigerator work. There was plenty of hot water and good pressure. The mattress was exceptionally comfortable. The heat works well. I have stayed in well over a hundred hotels, across all price ranges, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had.||The problems started immediately. The first room I was given had a broken door lock — an obvious safety issue. I had to return to the front desk and request a room change. The second room turned out to be even worse.||The bed was filthy. The sheets and pillows were covered with hair, crumbs, and glitter, and there was a disturbing dried white substance on the blanket. The floor had cigarette ashes despite the room being confirmed to me as a non-smoking room. Worst of all, I found a tick crawling on the sheet, about to get on my leg — a clear health hazard.||The bathroom fixtures were in equally poor condition. Positive: Person at the checking in desk Negative: No hot water in the shower the first day. 15 flies in the room on check in. 4 different kinds of bugs crawling on the bathroom floor. TV did not work.

Yikes! Very bare bones hotel. It has one soap and a couple towels. No shampoo or anything else. It was clean but very very sparse. No shower curtain. Broken toilet lid and other things in disrepair. Wasn't the most comfortable but we could sleep. We reserved 2 queens but got one king which wasnt idea for 2 adults and a child. It was inexpensive and not rowdy.

If by some small miracle I didn’t contract Hepatitis while staying here I’d probably stay again in a pinch. The staff was great. The rooms were disgusting. The ceiling and walls had what appeared to be blood splatters, the sheets had some weird brown splatter on them, the sink stopper didn’t work so when we brushed our teeth it clogged up. The door had obviously been broken into several times. The side table by the beds wasn’t fully bolted on, and inside the microwave was brown. Sketchy people everywhere. We had 1 regular towel for 2 beds and a half roll of toilet paper. Toilet ran the entire time and the hot and cold were backwards. The photos on the website.. not sure where those rooms were because ours looked nothing like them. But hey, $51 a night right?
