Motel 6 Salem, OR - Expo Center

Inexpensive. Disappointing room and feature quality. This place puts customers through the meat grinder while being barely legally compliant. What they called "bathtubs" are so small that my 9yr old granddaughter would have to stand. Her legs are too long. Pooled water under the paint in the ceiling, damaged floors that catch feet in 2 places, too much to list. Front counter customer service was kind but immediately defensive about the minimal and under_functional "bathtub" sizing. When we were turned down for an ada room (my fault) we were immediately told how tiny the bathtubs were. Then she repeated it and described it as maybe too small to bathe a dog. Yeah. Nice person though. Even if she was in a shouting confrontation with another customer. YIKES! 😬 Posted price at $76

Expecting a lower budget Hotel to look a little ragged does not describe what we found at the Motel 6 on Portland Rd. The floor was coming up and they use so much bleach water that it's sorely damaged. Rust around the windows, lots of cold air coming from the door, see the picture. Stains on the walls. Blankets were damaged, and a very strong bleach smell. The staff was nice and accommodating.

Positive: The staff was professional and the motel had easy access to the freeway. Negative: It was extremely loud at this motel. There is some sort of shipping center next door, so trucks beeping and big crashes were constant. There is a train that runs just behind the motel and had multiple runs overnight. Neighbors were inconsiderate.

Staff are friendly and kind. Rooms are what you pay for. bare minimum. The employees are always the best.

Key straps never work. Mattresses aren't comfortable. I mean. You get what you pay for. A night is cool, seems noisy through the night.
