Motel 6 Oceanside, CA

I don’t know where to start. I’m writing this for Julie, the amazing and kind woman who works at the front desk. For a good part of 2025, I was homeless. Right after losing my apartment, I lost my job and fell into a deep, deep depression. This is not the place you go to when you need a vacation. This place kept me afloat when I didn’t know when or if I would ever have a home again. This whole street is dripping with hopelessness, helplessness. And I had nowhere else to go. My dad took care of the reservations for me and a majority of the time I was just alone in my room with my dog. I got super lucky and landed a new job fast but I still had to qualify for an apartment. When you are experiencing the lowest point in your life so far, it’s the little things that keep you going. I arrived a little before check in time and was greeted with a warm welcome. Check in was seamless and I was given an option of which floor I wanted my room. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the property itself was neat and well manicured. The property is located next to a freeway but I never once heard any noise from it. The location is close to many restaurants, fast food establishments and places to go shopping. The property requires a deposit at check in but in my opinion this is a positive not a negative. Ample parking in parking lot. I was so pleased overall that I canceled a reservation I had elsewhere and booked an additional five days here. Thank you for being such great hosts!

Positive: Friendly employees Negative: The room was not clean. The walls had stains everywhere. The room was full of gnats. The sink area was not cleaned. The restroom was terrible, everything was moldy and old and stained. I don’t believe they gave us a clean room because it smelled awful.

As someone who’s here pretty often I don’t have a problem with this place, especially since it’s affordable. Staff is generally friendly and super helpful. Everything in the room is always clean. A lot to do around the area and tons of restaurants. 4 star for the room because I feel as if the floor gets my feet a bit dirty after I shower + WiFi isn’t good, but everything else is great.

Came to this hotel. Price was okay but as a two-star hotel this should not even be a two-star hotel. There were roaches the shower head did not work properly. The TV was busted and the front desk was aware of all of this. We were there for 3 days. Told the front desk about it on the first day we got there. Nothing was addressed until the third day the day before we were going to leave then all of a sudden they wanted to change my room. I let them know that was unacceptable. I should have been moved the first time they offered me a $39 refund come to find out only the refund was refunded. I have yet to get my deposit back and I'm calling them in regards to that person I spoke to. I asked if they were in the manager he said more or less then told me that they could give me one day refund if
