Motel 6 Holyoke, MA

I’m not one to write reviews but I feel I need to share my experience. When I booked this room, I didn’t expect much during this pandemic. I was visiting family in the area and this was the most convenient location. It was right off the highway where my husband's grandmother lives.||The staff was very pleasant. The gentleman who checked me in was extremely nice and funny and the girl working in the evening was extremely helpful.||I was pretty shocked when I got to our room. It felt like I was in a hospital. It looked and smelled very clean. The sheets were white and crisp. I was bothered at first because the room lacked warmth and it was bare. A bed. A television. My wife was a little hesitant to stay here because of the location, but we’ve always had a good experience at Motel 6 and decided to give this place a try. The first thing you notice is the landscaping as you drive up the hill; it was beautiful. The front desk staff was hospitable and accommodating; when we asked to see one of the rooms, the gentleman showed us three different rooms and even explained the cleaning process. My wife was delighted, and we appreciated their thoroughness and awareness of the times. Overall it was a great experience, and as always, motel 6 did not disappoint.

Worst hotel experience I have ever had. The bathroom faucet wobbled when used and only cold water trickled out. The shower never worked. The replacement telephone didn't work and the TV stopped working the second day. There was no microwave or refrigerator when we arrived. When we did get a refrigerator the freezer was a solid block of ice. A Franken-motel 6. The microwave was missing the turntable so you could not use it without the food burning. The floors looked as though they had never been cleaned. Blue toothpaste smeared all over the bathroom door. Worst hotel experience ever !

Room and hall smelled of weed. It's legal here, but regardless, we were in a no smoking room. Even with the AC unit turned on (which didn't work exactly right), the smell was still there. Room was bare bones, didn't even come with an alarm clock. Walls were paper thin, could hear literally everything happening everywhere in the building and outside. Other guests were very noisy. Room did look very modern and recently updated. Room was very clean aside from the bed, which had crumbs in it. Staff was nice and let us check in early without an early check in fee. Bed was below average, but wasn't bad enough to hurt my back.

Doesn't look great from the outside. The buildings are dirty and unkept, the security features in the exterior doors are broken. First room I was in didn't have a functional toilet, second day the room key randomly quit working. The actual rooms are nicer than the building though. Mine was clean and tidy, bed is comfortable and AC unit works fine. Shower was a bit odd, as I'm 5'6" and the shower head was even with my chest, so had to duck down to shower. How would a tall person shower?
