Motel 6 Fort Lauderdale, FL

Positive: The hotel was located right off the interstate. Negative: As soon as you open the door to walk down the halways it smelled like a dig kennel. There is no elevator for disabled and no option for a room on lower floor. Bottom of shower curtains and light switch had mold. I've exceeded my amount of word limit.

tl;dr - fantastic location between the airport and port, but service and cleanliness seem to have declined recently I thought this was the perfect hotel - close to the airport that we were arriving at near midnight, and close to the cruise port that we needed to be at the next day. The reviews seemed good around booking, and the price was the best I could find for the service I thought I was going to receive. On the way to the airport, I was informed that they were canceling my room because my card declined - I didn't have my new card at initial booking, and the one I used apparently expired at the beginning of January, not the end. I booked a room a month in advance. When I arrived Dec 6 they said they overbooked and had no rooms. They told me to leave. The clerk then disappeared for twenty minutes. Three other groups then arrived. The clerk came back and told everyone there’s no rooms and to leave. We had to uber to another hotel. The hotel charged my credit card for this stay the next day. I am considering legal action against them. Hotel was filthy with drug addicts everywhere.

This place was absolutely disgusting. I wish I could post pictures of how incredibly black, dirty and unsanitary the beds are. It looks like there’s dog hair and god knows what else. The walls are black, the night stand is peeling into pieces and the bathroom is dirty with scum. I can’t believe this is real. Thank you for flight cancellations and everything being booked. Please god if you are thinking of staying here. Don’t. Literally run away and go somewhere else.

The receptionist was absolutely wonderful. My family members are truck drivers and were extremely tired when we arrived. She was so sweet and understanding, and she made sure we got a room quickly so they could rest. Her kindness and helpful attitude truly made a difference for us. We’re very grateful for her support!
