Motel 6 Dubuque, IA

The room was nice and clean. My only complaint is the shower. We were in an "accessible" room. The shower was nice sized. It had what looked a piece of weather stripping across the shower entry, presumably to keep the water in. However, the curtain rod was on that bows out to accommodate larger people. This cause the curtain to hang out past the weather stripping. Consequently, the floor became very wet when we took a shower. The tile floor was very slick when it was wet.

We stayed 2 nights on a work layover with our dog and it was great. Cleanest room I've ever seen. You can't beat $49 (+ tax) per night (sun-th I believe). Room had a desk w/chair and fridge. AC was ice cold. Staff was super friendly. The housekeeper, Judy deserves a raise those rooms were so clean. And Alicia at the front desk was super friendly and most efficient. We had a lovely conversation. Definitely stay here if you're in town.

I paid my pet deposit but they forgot to charge me a pet fee for one night. The manager and housekeeper treated me like a criminal trying to evade a simple pet fee. I told them take it out of my deposit. The manager acted determined to find something in my room so he charged me a replacement fee for the sheets because he found a few pet hairs on top. I seriously feel bad for someone with this little education so I just let him charge me. He was expecting a conflict, or a protest from me. Just don't do business with this place. They have petty, vindictive people working here.

Glad I read between the lines of some of the derragatory reviews. We had a fabulous 2 night stay. Super clean room (I was definitely impressed and let Judy the housekeeper know. Give that woman a raise!) Room had a desk,chair and refrigerator, decent beds and arctic cold AC. For $49 a night and pets welcome, I was thrilled. Alicia at the front desk was so nice and we had a lovely conversation. No, it is not a 5 star hotel, but definitely exceeded my expectations. Well done Motel 6 of Dubuque, IA!!

Wasn't safe, sanitary or even close to secure. And they tried charging me to use the WiFi! Room was very dirty, air conditioner was in such bad shape and filter was smothered in dirt, hair on counters and tub, dirty/stained linens and didn't have enough towels for us and when they did we didn't get them til early evening and we had to go ask housekeeping and then go to front desk later and ask for them again. Owner/manager was rude and incompetent. And I couldn't understand one word he said to me. His English is dreadful and he didn't seem to care. The motel had an entire vacant top level and complete vacant west wing. The entire experience felt like a run down business with not one drop of any decent customer service. We felt like a burden to employees and owners during our entire stay. I
