Hilton Garden Inn Dubuque Downtown

The rooms are nice with a large LG TV. A Houlihans restaurant and the Q casino are accessible without going outside. There is also a smaller bar/restaurant by the casino with good food and an enjoyable staff. There is also a large game room. The price on a Thursday night for us was reasonable. Will go back... rates are higher on the weekend of course. If you want a nice room at a fair price whether you gamble or not... the Hilton Garden is a good one to choose.

We are still here. |We arrived yesterday at 3:30 Central time after driving from Des Moines. Our room wasn’t ready. I asked the receptionist how long g we would have to wait and she curtly responded, “I don’t know. “ I should have probably asked her to find out. She put us in a different room that is smaller. We had planned to have our granddaughter who is a student/athlete here stay the night. We changed our plans. ||The hotel only cleans rooms every other day. It’s time consumers get their money’s worth. Covid ended years ago. ||The toilet wouldn’t flush. I called and 30 minutes later a lady in blue scrubs showed up and asked do you need a plunger?|I plunged the toilet for about 10 minutes and it finally flushed. Positive: Pool and hot tub Negative: Casino is completely Smokey we only stayed for 30 min the smell was so bad! We had a hard time breathing. Will never go back there again as long as smoking is allowed in the whole casino.

This review focuses on the conduct of the general manager of the Dubuque Hilton rather than the hotel staff, who were consistently pleasant, helpful, and courteous. I checked in on December 23, 2025, for a two-night stay while visiting Dubuque for the holidays. At check-in, I advised the front desk that I am a Hilton Gold member and asked about the availability of a room upgrade and the $15 per guest breakfast credit. Nice place for an overnight. Dispointed that you had to pay for breakfast. Also, only 1 regular coffee pods for the in-room Keurig.
