Motel 6 Abilene, TX

The room I was in was dirty, with cobwebs in corners and trash on floor in the bathroom. The wall sconce did not work. The light above the shower was not properly installed and was open to the area above the ceiling. We encountered multiple roaches. The flooring laminate was separating as though it had experienced water damage. The shower curtain was heavily stained and the shower flooring was coming apart. I decided that we didn’t need to shower before leaving as soon as we woke up. No shampoo and conditioner, no tissues, or any other basic hotel amenities at all. The beds were very uncomfortable. The sheets did appear to be clean at least.

Stayed here 9-10-23, had to be in Midland Monday morning. I had stayed here before about 8-9 years earlier right when they had just remodeled all their rooms. Rooms are decent, there was obvious wear on the flooring and the beddings were relatively clean. The bathroom had a very odd smell. Place is not the safest looking with some shady looking characters and activities going on. I would never stay here with children. But for $62.00 a night and being I arrived kinda late, was too bad for just a place to sleep and get up early and go. Overall, I rate it a 5.5 out of 10.

After a long day of driving, the family and I needed some rest. I saw the billboard for this place and pulled off I-20 to check in. The lobby had an unpleasant urine smell but I just brushed it off. $110 seemed a little steep for a night but we needed to sleep. I paid the money, got the card and entered the room. Straight away there was a roach in the middle of the floor that I had to kill before it scurried under the bed. This freaked out my 5-year old daughter, but I figured if roaches are as bad as it gets we can deal for one night. I checked all the bedding and it seemed ok at first glance. The wife and daughter got into one bed and I took the other. Before I could fall asleep, I saw something move in the darkness. I shone my flashlight on the pillow and found several bed bugs crawlin

Service good however needs to learn to knock. Om more than one occasion. Housekeeping just walked in no knock or announce. Mold was on shower door at vase. And toilet needed cleaning before I arrived and during stay. It had mold inside. The exterior of hotel is well kept. It is also out on highway with nothing nearby. No eateries in walking distance either. Its a good blue color working man's hotel.
