Morning Wood Hotel

They made our weather emergency an extended vacation. We were headed to Whitehorse but the pass was closed. The staff was so friendly and generous. It is an epic winter storm here and they’ve been diligently shoveling for us as well as keeping us posted about what open in town. The room is simple, clean and quite nice.

Open year round!!! In a town with hardly any options for hotels in the wintertime, the Morning Wood has always been there for me when I’m traveling through Skagway and need a quiet/comfortable place to stay for a night or two. Very clean rooms, very friendly staff and actually affordable rates. Tennessee was incredibly kind and helpful when I called after the ferry got cancelled! Oh and it’s right across the street from the grocery store which is very convenient.

My stay at the Morning Wood Hotel was EXCELLENT! Tennesee is such a gem and made sure my coworker and I were completely taken care of. The rooms are very nice and extremely comfortable. They have the best merch for purchase, and in getting to know Tennesee a litte bit, you can tell how much work she put into the merchandise and hotel, and how she truly cares about the business. Her sweet dog was also in office which I absolutely loved. I would recommend the Morning Wood to anyone staying in Skagway and it's the only place I'll be for future trips.

The greatest named Hotel in the history of the world. The rooms are very nice, super clean, and the bed is comfortable. Amenities were also very nice and had good Wi-Fi. Highly recommend.

This was our first visit to Skagway and we chose the Morning Wood Hotel. I'm a wheelchair user and need to always call and speak to someone directly at the Hotel. I spoke with Tennessee. She was so helpful in making sure I had a room that would fit my needs. All the staff is helpful and friendly, the beds are comfy and the linens are great. The location is perfect that we could just walk (or roll) the few blocks downtown. The location is quite and very restful. I highly recommend the Morning Wood and if we ever return to Skagway we will definitely stay there. Thank you TENNESSEE and your staff for great time and experience in Skagway, AK.
