I can’t say enough good things about At The White House in Skagway. After an unexpected travel hiccup left me needing a place to stay, Chelsea went above and beyond. She not only made sure I had a comfortable room for the night, but also took the time to help me navigate the town and even booked me a seaplane back to Juneau. Her kindness and hospitality turned a stressful situation into a restful and memorable stay. If you find yourself in Skagway, do yourself a favor and stay with Chelsea at The White House—you’ll get a great night’s sleep and the friendliest service in town!

Great place to stay. Easy walk to the downtown area. Chelsey is great! I left my phone charger in the room at check out, and she called me to let me know it was waiting at the front desk for me. If I could give it more than a 5 rating, I would! Thanks again.

We visited various parts of SE Alaska, and this was our favorite place. The location is great - easy walking distance from restaurants and downtown but far enough away that it's quiet both during the day and evening/night. The innkeeper was friendly, responsive, and helpful. The atmosphere is quaint as it is an older building. The rooms are not fancy but nicely decorated, comfortable, and clean. We would absolutely stay here again if we have the chance!

A beautiful home full of history, I highly recommend you read the information binder they have in the rooms (during WWII the Army used it as a Hospital!) - there's even a comedic story regarding a fellow who hiked the Chilkoot Trail (33 miles) in 1 day - a very entertaining read. The bed was comfortable, the ceiling fan was useful in the summer, and the building was fairly quiet. It's not too far of a walk either from the main shops. The only downside is it's not pet friendly, and they didn't have any Breakfast / Orange Pekoe tea (they had lots of other tea options though). Highly recommend staying here!

I have traveled all over rhe world with my husband and I gravitate to old homes turned hotel or just old hotels. There is always such a rich history but can be a bit inconvenient when it comes to the what a grand old girl ( meaning the house/hotel ) such as consistent hot water, comfortable room temperature and very comfortable bed, can provide! We were there for 5 nights and it felt like I was a guest in someone's home and not a hotel or Inn. You won't have daily room service ( who really needs that, anyway) but you will have all that you need and the owner is always on site and available with a phone call. Its a few short blocks to Broadway and the heart of the town. Its a great place to explore this gorgeous part of our world!
