Mile Zero Bed & Breakfast

I really enjoyed the spacious rooms. The fact that the room was located out of the main traffic area of the cruise ship foot traffic. And that you could walk anywhere in town within 5 minutes. The glasswork you might have to get a ride and the zip line but most everything else is with in walking distance.My only complaint would be not being able to use the internet to talk with my wife for the four days i was there. Outside of that I rate the place and management as a 10 being great. I'd recommend this place to anyone needing a peaceful place to stay.

This place is not the wonderful bed and breakfast of the past. Although they use the old website that still says bed and breakfast on the booking page, there is no breakfast. Their information page does say that breakfast is provided as an "in room self-service amenity" that includes a "variety of coffee/tea options and seasonal snacks". However, all we got was out-of-date "Clif" bars and some coffee pods with a few sugar packages from random places and no creamer/milk. When I asked for some creamer for the coffee the response was negative -- "No -- just what's in the room". The bed was comfortable and the TV worked OK but the WiFi was either very limited or not available. The poor hospitality and odd approach to the breakfast "amenity" result in the poor rating.

The Mile 0 gave us both comfort and hospitality on our recent four-night stay. The spacious rooms have excellent storage so we could unpack and feel at home. The shared small guest refrigerator allowed us to store snacks, the common area had plenty of seating and lots of light for reading. The breakfast always featured a freshly-baked treat, fruit, yogurt and boiled eggs. Corey, the manager, greeted us warmly and offered advise about activities and restaurants. An added bonus was conversation with other guests, in our case visiting scientists and travel professionals in town for meetings and trainings. We highly recommend the Mile 0.

When we arrived, noone was there, we found the key of our room left on the kitchen table. This place is run by a student who does not make you feel welcome. The room was spacious and clean with a separate entrance. The Continental breakfast was average but sufficient. We were surprised with the list of restrictions that was posted in our room. There is no access to the kitchen or the laundry. There is a small fridge and microwave outside on the terrace but this place does not provide tea/coffee making facilities as it is usual in Alaska. Guests are required to pay for wifi ($5 per day). Fortunately the local library close by provides free wifi when it is opened.
