Monumental Movieland Hotel

This is the worst establishment I have ever had the misfortune of visiting. It is SO dirty and downright dangerous. I had insects in the bathroom. Lamps didn’t work, tv didn’t work. Safes didn’t work - and there was an extra charge for them at check in. There was also an extra charge for WiFi - which is obviously not secure and has left my phone with viruses. At time of booking the confirmation stated paid in full inclusive of all taxes and charges. Don’t know why I had to pay the extra! The bed linen was stained. The pool is filthy. There is a smell of marijuana in the corridors. Bins were overflowing. There were pools of urine in stairwells. The fire safety signs are torn so you can’t see escape routes. With jet lag, I went out walking at 5am one morning and there was a couple having sex

Half the lightbulbs in our room weren’t working, had all of the ingredients for a coffee bar but no coffee maker, two safes (??), ant infestation in the bathroom, stained pillow cases, furniture was covered in dust and looked like it hadn’t been wiped down, floors weren’t mopped and had old spills on them, trim was covered in grime and hand prints, and there were some very suspicious and unsafe looking characters hanging out for hours by the entrance of the hotel when we arrived. This hotel is very cheap and you will get exactly what you pay for.

We only stayed one night because we arrived very late. When we woke up, we saw the condition of the room: cockroaches, mold in the bathroom, dirty walls and baseboards, and a shower that barely worked — it was impossible to take a proper bath. The elevator was also extremely dirty, showing a clear lack of cleaning and maintenance. I understand this hotel may not be a high-star property, but I expected basic. The location is excellent, and with improvements to basic cleanliness and hygiene, this could be a wonderful hotel. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet basic sanitary standards, and we had to check out early

Positive: Hotel is in a great location and does not charge for parking. Most of the staff is nice and there is a pool. William in maintenance was our savior. Negative: Rooms have bugs , Wi-Fi that costs $5 a day is unusable, had numerous issues including keycards deactivating , room service taking all of our towels , tv not working for a day until they swapped it and trash everywhere.Hotel is affordable, needs cleaning

Absolutely horrible. My room had ants in the bed and in the shower. You couldn’t even use the dresser because when you open the door, it’s scraped on the floor because it wasn’t even. There was only two plugs in the whole room, one to plug in the lamp and one to plug in the TV couldn’t even use the microwave or coffee maker. Walking around the room barefoot my feet were black from how dirty the floors were. The bed was hard as a rock and I asked for maintenance to fix the toilet and it took them six hours to come to my room. When using the elevator, it started to go down while the doors were still open, which was scary. I will never recommend this hotel whatsoever. I’d rather stay somewhere else. I picked it because of the location, but I will never return I’ve never had such a bad hotel e
