Mildred Knipe Memorial Park Campground

My sisters and I had a camping experience at this site, where we met a camp host who was courteous, but unfortunately, the male accompanying her displayed unacceptable behavior. When we arrived, the gate was shut, appearing to be locked. We were then taken to task for not closing the gate behind us. Upon arriving at our campsite, we were informed that our second truck and trailer would incur an additional fee as two separate vehicles, totaling $40 for the two-night stay. Although the male host stated that he would provide an envelope for payment, it never materialized. Interestingly, the park's rules specify an $8 charge per extra vehicle, not $10. Really nice, big and open space to spend some time in nature. We went out there for the northern lights to get away from all the light of Roseburg and Sutherlin.

Whoever the older African American guy is that works there as security or park official blocked us in and held us against our will with our children in the vehicle and proceeded to tell me that we were going to be arrested for trespassing (which made our children very scared and made them cry) because we went down a little side road that didn't have a no trespassing sign on it.

Great place. Super beautiful. The camp host was very friendly and pleasant. Went on a nice little stroll to see the house and peacocks. Will definitely be back!

A jewel of a park, hiking and horseback riding trails. Lots of birds and cows.
