Midway Motel

Reserved 2 mo. ahead and had called and requested handicapped room due to husband recovering with broken leg, using walker. Arrived and found room not accessible. Mgr said they were not required to have handicapped rooms since they only had 14 rooms total! Still, no safety bars in shower and low toilet. Comfortable bed, hard pillows, iron bed frame that were killer on your shins when walking past. Clean room, nice kitchen table and chairs. Bigger fridge but all racks missing from door shelves-useless. OLD window AC but cooled. No breakfast items at all. Flyswatter on wall for flies that were around front door. Probably would not stay here again unless dire emergency. Way overpriced for the area by about $25.00@ night! Electrical outlets seemed overloaded with many extension plugs (code?)

This was the third time that we stayed at this motel. It makes for a great basecamp in the Driftless area. The beds were super comfortable, shower was hot, pressure was good. The fridge was efficient and let me refresh our cooler -- refroze all the ice packs while keeping the cooler contents safe. ||We like that the motel is within walking distance to the Viroqua Co-op (like a Whole Foods but real, community-owned). Or you can walk half a block north to Culver's, or another half-block to the Walmart, depending on your preferences.||The hotel owner was very friendly and accommodating. The owner was very polite and accommodating. The room was very clean. Great water pressure. Inexpensive room, outdated but very clean.

This was the worst experience I've ever had at a motel. The owner was incredibly rude to me. There was a misunderstanding about our cat. Fair to be upset. What wasn't fair was him berating me for it while I stood there holding my baby trying to check out. He didn't have an attitude with my fiance when they spoke about it and he's the one who placed the reservation. I hadn't even spoken to the owner before this. He interrupted me, spoke down to me, and repeated himself like it made him feel good to yell at a women alone with a baby. For the record our cat didn't do any damage. We cut our stay short. My fiance went back after work to ask for a refund for the days we didn't stay and he tried to charge us an extra night for the cat despite the policy stating it's $10 for an approved pet and $5

Clean, comfortable room at a reasonable price. Carpet looked new and room was in nice shape. Bath was dated but clean. Comfortable beds. Great place to stay if you come to snowmobile. Trail is right out back and family restaurant next door. Owner is polite and accommodating.
