I came into the park without a reservation. Camp host Lola could have ended it there, but she believed a spot may be available due to the tenant leaving early. She was able to confirm the rv guest departed for good and provided me a place to stay. She displayed kindness, empathy, above and beyond professionalism and a friendly smile.

If you’re looking for remote & relaxation Midway is a nice campground. There are RV sites & tent sites. RV sites are paved & some require minimal leveling. All RV sites have electric, a picnic table & fire pit. They all surround a man made’lake’. NO SWIMMING due to potential alligators. There are some activities related to the Everglades, anywhere from 15-30 minutes in either direction. There are no activities at the campground. (i.e. playground, hiking trails, etc). There are M/F restrooms, NO SHOWERS. Tents sites are primitive. Camp hosts keep campground well maintained.

We tent camped in Midway and had a very nice experience. The camp volunteer greeted us promptly when we arrived and gave us a run down of the facilities and some safety information regarding wildlife. The bathroom is nice and clean, but be prepared, there are no showers. There are several nice covered picnic areas. There is some road noise, but otherwise the campground is a wonderfully peaceful place with beautiful views of the night sky. This campground is a good central location if you want to visit the Gulf side of the Everglades park, enjoy Big Cypress, or visit Shark Valley. I would highly recommend camping here!

Great campground, cement spots with electric only connections. Drinking water and dump station available. Small lake, clean bathroom, picnic tables. Very nice and friendly camp host. Beautiful sunsets and incredible stargazing opportunities. No Verizon but good t Mobile service.

Between Miami and Naples on the old Alligator Alley, this out-of-the-way and peaceful campground is a good value. ✓ The groundskeeper keeps the park beautiful and well-groomed; ✓ Mosquitos were not a nuisance; ✓ Level RV pads; ✓ Shady spots on the East side of the lake; ✓ If you're wary of falling acorns, park on the West side of the lake; ✓ Paved road around the lake is good for kids on scooters or bikes and athletes in training. If you want to get out of the world to escape the Rat Race and phone calls from busybodies in your life, THIS is the place for you! Practically no WiFi and sketchy phone service. 👍 (Texts DO go through on average, just in case of emergencies, at least for us ... we have Verizon.)
