Best B&B I have ever stayed at. Hostess/owner, Melissa is friendly, accommodating, gracious, flexible and has a flavorful full breakfast! The B&B is vey clean and the decor is very cozy, comfortable and inviting. She also is a great travel guide for the area.

Our stay at Meriweather’s Retreat was fantastic! Our party of 3 were fortunate enough to spend 4 nights here in Hohenwald, as part of a trip visiting many sites around Tennessee, and this was by far the best stay of all! The owner, Melissa, went above and beyond to make our stay extra special and host us whilst we visited. She provided insights into the local area, with many recommendations of places to visit and sights to see. Melissa will make you feel right at home, and you’ll not want to leave! There are 2 suites available and we had both, allowing us to have the guesthouse to ourselves. It was the perfect place to retreat back to after a busy day exploring the surrounding areas. Restored older home with fabulous internet. Such a gracious host. Extremely knowledgeable of local historic landmarks and attractions. Restaurants and shops a couple walkable blocks away. Generous portions of the best breakfast you will get anywhere. The food was fabulous. Comfortable and spacious room. We felt like we were at home.

My wife and I stayed at Meriwether's Retreat Bed & Breakfast for several nights while I was working in town. We LOVED every moment we spent in this bed and breakfast. Melissa is the best host! She asked about dietary restrictions before and during our stay. She is very accomodating of any request. Every morning the breakfast was AMAZING. She was always available and responded within seconds to every request. She also was conscience of privacy for her guests. If you are going to be on the Natchez Trace, make plans to make this a stop on your trip. Everything in the house has meaning and is topped off by a beautiful mural in the entrance area that tells the story of Hohenwald’s founding.

From the moment I booked, Melissa’s communication was exceptional and so helpful. She went above and beyond to make us feel at home, from the warm welcome to the thoughtful touches like asking about diet preferences and even handing us bug spray when we needed it. Her breakfast was absolutely delicious every morning, and she gave us all the best tips about Hohenwald. I visited with my mom, and Melissa was especially kind to her. They even exchanged recipes! Her charm, kindness, and genuine care made our stay unforgettable. While we build on our lot in Hohenwald, we honestly can’t imagine staying anywhere else. Highly recommend Meriwether’s Retreat.
