McMenamins Old St. Francis School

This is our favorite place to watch a movie! Staff is always great. From the front to concessions, they are kind and friendly. The last show the gentlemen let us in earlier. Which was nice to set our blanket and stuff down and not stand in a busy narrow hallway. And you get great food! 5 stars across the board! We show up about 45 mins early and get great seats.

I'll start off by saying this place is wonderfully unique and great location right in downtown Bend, walking distance to everything in downtown. The front entrance is actually to the first of four different pubs / restaurants, while the back entrance / parking lot is the actual entrance / hall to the registration desk. Old St. Francis School offers a lot of history, upscale pub food and each pub area offers a slightly different menu. The owners of the wonderful place are two brothers that have many hotels, pubs, movie theaters and venues thru out Oregon and the state of Washington. Be really sure to walk around this property and check out the different pub areas, the soaking tub, different patio areas, and there's even some hidden rooms ( sorta quirky ). Helped a friend get a room here mostly because we wanted to see if the hot tub and spa was premium and worth a future trip. When came time to pay my friend’s Bank had put a hold on the amount for the room and so there was a small discrepancy with the Payment going through but proof that the bank had the money to cover the room. He was very kind with the staff, trying to explain this and asked a simple question. How can we remedy this at this point? I’m assuming the owner but it might have been the manager said…” at this point you have stayed at my hotel feloniously for two days And it’s Payment or Police!” my friend in fear of going to jail for simply staying at what we thought was a nice hotel at first turned out to be a nightmare and fear of being locked away alone in a jail cell. You can't go wrong with a McMenamin's experience, and this place has been fantastic! The soaking pool is fabulous, the water is SO WARM, and the inside is something out of a dream. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Rooms are gorgeous, and beds are really plush and comfy!

Well, wish I wouldhave come here last few times I was in Bend. Parking can be a pain. Get here early and when checking out the property, don't do it with an uninterested person. You want to take your time to view the old mixed withe the McMinamin's touch. Rooms are not cheap but you can sit at any of the few outside fireplaces. Soaking pool... Don't get your hopes up if there on a weekend. There are gig driver services out here, that's how I got here from a cemerety.
