McCambridge Lodge

We reserved the hotel the same day I arrived at the Kern Valley for one night. The hotel is well situated, right at the skirts of a tiny town of Kernville. I got a room overlooking the lake, quite a nice view from the window. The room has two queen beds with cheap but firm and comfortable mattresses, which is a big plus on my opinion, so we could take a really good rest. The hotel seems to be rather old and not well maintained, but the room and carpet were clean aside from couple of permanent stains which didn't bother as. Also the room has all amenities we needed, even a small range and a fridge. Considering the cheap price for the room compared to the other nearby hotels, this hotel has a great value for budget travelers. By the way, the manager is a very nice and accommodating person.

First of all, be aware that the first two pictures shown here are NOT this motel. It looks NOTHING like that. There were dirty socks left from a previous guest, the sheets were stained, the pillows were like pancakes. I would never stay there again. We slept with extra clothing covering their pillows...I didn't want my head touching the bed...we slept fully clothed so as to not make contact with the sheets. The one positive? The view. That is the only positive thing I could say in regards to our stay.

I love the McCambridge Lodge! I've stayed here at least 7 or 8 times. It's my favorite place to stay in Kernville.||It's got a rustic cozy feel, and all the rooms I've stayed in have been very clean and comfortable. The owners are so nice, and always extremely accommodating.||The icing on the cake is the amazing view of the mountains and the Kern river.||||I highly recommend staying here.

The owner was overally nice- got into an accident and he stayed up all night to make sure everyone was ok and drove a group of my friends down the Kerville hill all the way to bakersfield just to rent a car becasue ours got totaled. The place is pretty we kept- could be a little cleaner but overal for a motel on the river is great. very grateful to have been helped by this man- places to eat alll around- the rive is just really low right now! wait til' next year

Nice clean little motel, Family run and very friendly we only stayed 1 night and i came here for the Kernville Brewery (which was great) but you are also very close to the 100 Sequoia worth a visit, This motel is in need for a update i agree but the views and location for a passing night makes it a fantastic place to stay. Pool was very welcoming in the 100f heat.
