Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes

We were in town for my son’s tournament and stayed here for two nights. The beds were super comfortable and the staff was great. I wanted to mention Ashley in particular that checked us in when we arrived. Top tier service! She was friendly, accommodating, pleasant, and went above and beyond. After a LONG day of games and celebrating my son’s birthday, he had a birthday dessert and card waiting for him. We are travel quite often and are very appreciative of Ashley’s kindness and attentiveness. Thank you Ashley!

We were only able to stay at this location one night, but would highly recommend. We were greeted by friendly staff from the moment we got out of our car. We were quickly checked in and given a beautiful ocean front room. In this age, I have to note that the room was spotless and ready for us. We had a corner room with two balcony views and a very comfortable bed. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel bar with a table on the outside balcony. Service was great. Staff was knowledgeable on the menu and food and drink service was very fast. The following morning we headed to the hotel restaurant where we enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Service was once again very efficient and our server treated us like old friends. We were able to take a brief walk on the beach which is clean and beautiful

During our Labor Day vacation, my son and I were subjected to targeted harassment and racial profiling by an employee at the Marriott Grand Dunes OceanWatch villas property. While simply walking across the parking lot to access the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort and Spa property. We were intercepted and interrogated. I was questioned in front of my son about my guest status and where I was staying in an inhumane way. It was very disrespectful. During my stay, I observed multiple Caucasian guests who were not approached or questioned when moving throughout the properties. It was clear that we were singled out based on the color of our skin. ​This experience was deeply hurtful and frustrating, especially as we were there to enjoy a family holiday. We had brunch today, and Nick our server was exceptional. He was probably the best server I’ve ever had in my life. He was so kind. He was so attentive. He was lovely to have a conversation with. He just shows the best of the best of Marriott.

The hotel is older, could they upgrade lamps and add fresh paint, yes! But the rooms are clean, the people are amazing, the location is great! Starbucks is across the street, great restaurants nearby.
