Manka's Inverness Lodge

Amazing experience at Manka's. The staff and owners are welcoming, they go out of their way to make your stay special. The fishing lodge cabin was decorated with taste and filled with beautiful antiques, from the beautiful and gigantic fireplace to the tub. The view in the morning is breathtaking. Breakfast and newspaper tray is delivered at the door step every morning. You know it's there by a knock on the door. The outdoor shower is one of a kind offering a view on the lake as you shower. Possibly the nicest place I've ever stayed at. THANK YOU for making our time memorable.

One of the most unique, comfortable, charming, out of a story book, accommodations I’ve ever had the opportunity to stay at. The beds alone are absolutely incredible, with perfect feel, soft yet just enough firm, while being a true vacation for each night you stay. A huge fireplace is in the main room in the Mankas Cabin, with leather couches and chairs to chill, relax and imbibe in. A stereo has an iPod with great music to help the mood. The friendly staff offers you a helpful check in and brings an amazing breakfast that will make the rest of the world melt away. This is worth all the price. Local and seasonal items are brought to your cabin on period correct plate ware. The Arts & Crafts vibe is intoxicating. The outdoor shower amazing and luxurious, the tub fit for a king | queen. I’

We first heard of Manka's as a recommendation from a friend for a quick weekend getaway. We have been back and have stayed in nearly all of the cabins/rooms and have had a variety of meals. The rooms have tons of character and the food is incredible. The staff and service are always excellent. We love it more every time.

A friend recommended this place and I'm interested, but they have a very poorly designed website that forces you to sit through some lengthy Flash (over 60 seconds, moving achingly slowly) before you can actually look at what the rooms are like. Then when you finally get to that part, the text is in a tiny scrolling window, and the single photo that accompanies the room description is just as tiny. Don't get me wrong, the hotel could be great, but the website is a huge turn-off. Booking is not possible through the website, either.

SLEAZE ALERT: TOTALLY LIED AND SCREWED US! The thermostat in our room was malfunctioning, causing the room to be an absolute sauna, a miserable 90 degrees all night. Neither of us could sleep at all. In the morning, we went and spoke with Alan and he came to take a look at the sweltering room. He was apologetic and immediately offered to give us a $100 off of our room even though we didn't ask for anything nor did we make a fuss. He wanted to rectify the situation and we thought that was fair. Then things took a sleazy turn. To our surprise, they ran the card for the full amount. In the following weeks, we called a dozen times to follow up on the $100 refund and they kept giving us the runaround, telling us to call back to talk to different people and stringing us along.
