Manitou Backpack Campsite #3

One of the easier river access sites to get to. Very open and suitable for tents & large groups. Not a great hammocking site. In autumn after deciduous leaf cover is gone there is a clear line of sight between the campsite and passers by on the trail.

One of the closer sites to the parking lot at 1.3 miles on my Fitbit from my car. It is farther South than listed in Google Maps. There is an old site at their location with a fire pit and not any space to set up your tent. Has enough space for at least 3 small tents and some wood logs built up. The nearest toilet is at the parking lot. Lots of hills full of roots and rocks between the parking lot and the site made it a difficult trek with a full backpack. Lots of mosquitoes as it is next to the river. Site 4 is more level and shaded for almost the same distance.
