Manatee Hammock Campground

Nice campground. Not many frills, but great place to catch rocket launches from the space center. Sites are mostly pretty small. Good shade. Bathrooms were OK, but the showers need a good deep cleaning. Place is well worth the price. We stayed for a month and it was fine.

Stopped by Manatee Hammock even park waiting for the rocket launch, it is a good place to watch, we have been a few times and actually watched the Artemis one takeoff at 2 AM. The park is pretty it’s on the water and space launch pads are across the water. They have a small pool, a small camp store, bath house and laundry. There is also several tent sites, they do have a dog park, but seen a snake there one time and hard for me to go back. It’s a county park so there very tricked. Can’t check in until 2, have to be out by 11 next day, can’t have a camp fire. The sots are dirt and gravel, no concrete. It is a good place to watch the launch but not many amenities. Would only stay here to watch launch. Very hard to get into, just keep looking daily but reasonable price like $50 a night.

This was an easy online reservation. The office staff were friendly and helpful. As others have said we were given 2 pages of regulations. We considered it to be thorough but helpful. It was a bit tricky to find our site. Some of the sites are rather small although we did see some large pull thru sites as well. One of our highlights was to go out on the fishing pier to watch a Falcon 9 rocket launch from the Kennedy Space Center. It was awesome. We had a good time and would recommend this Campground. Would love to stay again sometime.

We were headed to Jacksonville in our RV when both directions of 95 closed, all lanes, due to a brush fire. We hopped on Google to figure out a Plan B and found this park had a few spots left. The ladies in the office were so helpful and accommodating; they moved some things around in the computer for us and found us a perfect spot for the night. We can’t wait to come back and stay longer to experience the area. The river views were beautiful, and it looked like the campground and surrounding area had a ton to do.

Right on the water so you can watch rocket tale offs!! Clean campground. Good bathroom and shower. Nice staff. Well organized. Basic sites for all campers assigned by staff. Clean. Some highway noise.
