Machias River Inn

I rented a room for my elderly parents who were visiting for Thanksgiving. My mom has mobility issues and needed a handicapped accessible room. They provided a lovely room on the ground floor with walk-in shower. She uses a cane, so that worked well for her, but the shower did have a little ledge to step over (a couple of inches), so it might not work out for someone in a wheelchair. Other than that, the space was perfect. Tastefully decorated and comfortable, and conveniently located with a great view of the river. They even have a wonderful gift shop with a wide selection of fun items. We will definitely use this hotel again when we have out-of-town guests.

This place was awesome. We didn't have a reservation and showed up on a friday night hoping to find somewhere to stay in this area. We were given the sweetest room over looking the water. The sunrise and sunsets were so beautiful from here. They have comfy chairs to sit in while you watch the wildlife all around you. We loved having the fireplace in our room. It was the perfect added touch. Will definitely stay here again if ever in Maine. Their gift shop is wonderful too. I actually bought a few christmas gifts from there. My only complaint is the outdoor lighting. I'm sure there are rules and regulations but they shine all day and night at the front door and the back door of each room. The one out back shines in your room all night .

A much needed rain moved in during our afternoon stay so that kept us from wanting to make a drive to see the lighthouse in Lubec. We did eat lunch & dinner at Helen's & loved it both times. Tom's was where we had breakfast & enjoyed that as well. The Office/103 Main Gift Shop was very nice with lots of choices for souvenirs & treats. The ADA room we needed was perfect for my wife's accessibility & the view of the Machias River was beautiful. The Adirondack chairs were nice but we never got a chance to sit in them because of the dampness. I still got some good photos of a beautiful sunrise. The room was super clean by Michelle & Angela(desk) was very friendly when we met her before leaving. Not enough can be said about how helpful, knowledgeable, & friendly the twin brothers Ryle

Nice place near the river updated and cozy. Beautiful view of Machias River. The staff was friendly & attentive. V personable almost had late check in & was contacted 5 star service the only fun fact was the remote was more complicated to use then solving a rubric s cube But I’d rather watch the river views than tv

Excellent experience. We stayed here for two days to utilize the UTV trails in the area. We had a first floor room with a king bed and a water view. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and well designed. The walk-in shower was spacious with plenty of hot water and good pressure. The room has a small microwave and refrigerator. The check in and reservation process was quick and easy. We spoke with the manager Ryle to confirm. Pro-tip: don’t call the reservation number as it goes to a third party. Call the front desk directly for best service. They have a gift/candy store on premises that is well stocked.
