Longhorn Guest Cabin

Enjoyed our two night at the Longhorn Guest Cabin. Waking each morning to Longhorns walking by, cats in the field, Coffee on the porch. The evening sitting out at the fire pit enjoying some wine. What a place!

Kelley and I had a wonderful time. Sat around the fire on a chilly winter night when the stars stabbed us in our eye. Glasses of red wine with our hosts, Don and Debbie, and in the distance a single line of barbed wire silhouetted against the winter grass lit by a Hill Country moon. You wake up the next morning in a cozy bedroom encircled with antique windows in what seems like you looking out upon an African glade. This and more, roosters in the morning, a clean chill in the air sending birds airborne during an early walk while happening upon other animal characters, including heritage Longhorns, across a plain in Texas’ own “Outback.” What a trip it was not that far from our city home in South Austin, Baby! but out in the middle of nowhere at the same. What a classic Texas spot!
