Long holiday Motel

My wife and I stayed here over the weekend to visit Crested Butte since we weren’t able to get a campsite in Crested Butte and hotels are super expensive there. It’s a little bit of a drive between here and CB, but the price was great, it’s good clean and good value, and the owner is friendly. As people have said, the AC is loud, so bring earplugs and you’ll be alright. Very happy we found this place which helped make our amazing Crested Butte trip possible.

Most uncomfortable hotel room we've ever had. Log chairs with straight back, or sit on the bed. Not relaxing. Bed was comfortable.

This is more like 1955 because this is an old fashioned motel. The rooms are very clean and well kept, though seem small by today’s standards, they are ok for a short stay. The grounds are very well kept. Unfortunately the management turns off the heat when no one is in the room and it was very cold when we arrived and it took until late at night to get warm. This was uncomfortable. We like old fashioned motels because they can be charming and certainly are nicer than the soulless hotels now everywhere. The cold and high price was off putting. The woman at the desk wanted to complain about what Expedia charged her and wanted to increase our bill, but we said we would leave and she then charged the agreed upon price. To start with the Pros... It was super clean. It was a great location. The staff was very friendly. Everything worked. It was super unique and well cared for. The water pressure in our room was fantastic and the water was nice and hot. Cons... I have pictures of the rules about pets. I didn't see anything about the fee when I booked.. it's $25 a pet plus tax. My son brought his two small dogs so it came to a little over $56 for the two dogs. That's a lot when they can't even sleep on the bed with you. That's another rule that I didn't see when I booked. My son slept on the floor with his dog so it wouldn't bark all night. The rooms are kind of small. We didn't mind that though. We were only there one night. No breakfast. But not a huge con.... More of a suggestion. Some pastries or somethi
