Lionel Champlin Guest House

We totally love Lionel Champlain with beautifully appointed rooms. It's like our home away from home and have been there often. Lisa is such a gracious host and a wealth of info about all places local. Jamestown is a quiet, quintessential NE town but if you want the busyness of Newport, it's just a ferry ride across the water. The other beautiful feature is you can leave your car and walk to some amazing restaurants and cute shops.

Had a great stay this past weekend! Lisa was very communicative and welcoming. We stayed in the Captains room which has a great view of the water and a lovely seating area. There are also additional areas for guests to hang out inside and on the front patio. ||Really appreciated the breakfast offerings of coffee, gluten free bread and granola, and baked goods. Convenient parking right outside. Perfect location just a short drive from Newport. Anything we could need was available, including great restaurants in walking distance, beach towels and chairs to borrow, books and magazines in all the rooms.||Can’t wait to come back!

I feel like the luckiest person ever - as I managed to get the highly sought after tickets for the iconic Newport Folk Festival on my first try . . . but also was able to stay at this wonderful guest house.  The innkeeper, Lisa, worked miracles to make this happen and I'll be forever grateful.   Her home truly feels like a 2nd home - each room is so tastefully decorated with lots of books to browse through, as well as cozy chairs in which to read them with my favorite being on her wonderful front porch.  Coffee, teas and cocoas were available 24/7 and she often had cookies or brownies along with fresh fruit available for snacks throughout the day.  She baked something fresh and different for breakfast on each of the 6 days I stayed there, and also offered yummy organic granolas, yougurts,

I’ve stayed here many times, and it is always very pleasant. Lisa goes out of her way to speak with every guest, making them as comfortable and welcome as possible, and she does an excellent job with breakfast. There is always a new baked good every day, along with fruit, yogurt, granola, juice, and fresh coffee and tea. The rooms are always clean, homey, and quaintly decorated. Jamestown is such a lovely place to visit for a short getaway or long weekend, and the guest house is conveniently located near the ferry, downtown shopping, and restaurants. It is also a pleasant bike ride to Beavertail. The Lionel Chaplin Guest House is a real gem.

We enjoyed our week-long stay in the Rose room at the Lionel Champlin Guest House in Jamestown during June. It has the comfort of today and charm of a turn of the century home. Lisa, the proprietor, sets out a delightful self-serve breakfast with homemade treats and coffee in the morning...including organic granola and ample snacks. It is located in a quiet neighborhood a block and a half to town, eateries, shops and the ferry. It is very relaxing sitting on the front porch or if you like to sleep with the windows open. The other guests were lovely as well. A+++
