Linden Motel

We stayed for 2 nights while section-hiking. It was a perfect location for the hike. The place has a lot of potential, and the room we stayed in was roomy, with a kitchenette, which was nice. But the kitchen was not clean and the bathroom was filthy. Like don’t-use-the-shower filthy. We cleaned the toilet before using it. And the whole room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The sheets were clean, and we didn’t have an alternative, so we stayed. Frank was sweet - very responsive to our requests for extra pillows and the Wi-Fi password. But for other questions he kept deferring to a woman who was in charge but not available. It seemed like something was up - like maybe she’s ill or something? I hope we just hit them at a bad time and that they’ll be back to providing clean rooms soon.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with so few photos of this place. I called in for a reservation and was able to have a room held for me. The room is a bit dated but it was clean, came with a full kitchen and had an amazing view of the lake. The owner is very kind and showed me all the details of the room when I checked in. It’s a safe location with a Chase bank just around the corner and many cafes and restaurants within a short walking distance. My only issue is that early in the morning during both days, there was someone talking loudly outside of my room at 4am since it’s a patio space shared by all the rooms.

Stayed during our thru hike and had a great time! Comfortable and large rooms, excellent help from the owner, and extremely reasonable price. I would definitely stay here again!

Love this place, full of history and character. The owner, Grandma Vera is the best!
