Lift Bridge Lodge, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Very amazing stay! The room was massive with a huge jetted tub, gas fireplace, nice wrap around balcony with a view of the canal and lift bridge, very comfortable bed and pillows, excellent breakfast and coffee, pretty friendly staff, massive bathroom with large alwalk in bathroom, close to shopping/restaurants. They provide reading material, books/magazines and puzzles to bring to your room. My only complaint was very poor water pressure and pretty lame shower head. It took several minutes for the jetted tub to fill and it didn’t feel like I was able to rinse all the soap and shampoo off in the shower. Also, I ended up having to call the front desk to get more towels and coffee pods. I would stay again, but would change a canal/lift bridge view for a lake/canal view.

We love staying here! The view of the lift bridge is beautiful and the rooms are always clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the hot breakfasts and all the staff were kind and helpful. The Nespresso coffee in the room was delicious- such a nice treat! The indoor pool was fun for our daughter, although a little cold when we first got in. I wish our room had been stocked with a little extra facial tissue… we had lots of drippy noses and ran out the morning we left so there wasn’t really time to call the front desk. One extra backup box would have been nice.

The hotel, the room, the breakfast, and the location were excellent. We really enjoyed the facility. The reason for our less than score of 10 was the staff at the hotel. These people are your face of the brand, your ambassadors of hospitality for the hotel. Unfortunately, the staff didn't get the memo. They all looked like they wanted to be somewhere else and not at work. They never engaged us or said good morning or anything. The desk clerks always had their heads down looking at the computers and the people in the dining area were busy talking to each other and not even acknowledging the guests. We stayed for the long Labor Day weekend. The hotel is really the perfect location! It is steps away from the lakefront boardwalk and a short walk to restaurants, shops, the lift bridge, the light houses, and you can even walk to the aquarium (about 15 minutes away). The hotel is very nice! We had a suite that faced the water with a balcony. The room was extremely clean, spacious, and well appointed. The balcony was an added bonus as we were able to see ships come in and view the lighthouses and people watch the boardwalk. The breakfast in the morning was nice - 2 different kinds of eggs, a rotation of sausage or ham, different potatoes every day, waffles and pancakes, plus donuts, fruits, cereals, and instant oatmeal. We enjoyed our stay. The location was nice, and our room was very clean. The only complaint we had was the amount of pepper used on the scrambled eggs and sausage at breakfast. Please allow guests to add pepper to their desire. That's what pepper shakers are for. 🙂 The rest of the food was excellent!
