Customer Reviews
Just off of the water with great open views of the reservoir. Plenty of shade trees, the pool is warm and has a gentle slope for infants or three elderly to enter/exit. Our room was large, but a bit dated. Comfortable beds, hot water in the shower. Bike rentals, laundry, marina across the street, although the hours of it's restaurant were disappointing (but that's a separate business regardless). Paved lakeside walking trails. QUIET too.
We have our family reunion here annually for the last 5 years, and it is always a great time. The lodge is great, but the cabins need some work. Cabin 25 had some screen door issues. The have great beach areas, though I would suggest water shoes due to the zebra mussels being sharp on the feet.
Our family just got home after spending 5 nights at the L&C Resort. We chose the resort based on the location, pricing and the fact the had a heated pool. We figured the lake would still be pretty cold (which it was) and having a heated pool would be the perfect compromise. However, they remodeled the pool this spring and it wasn’t available for our stay. Okay, fine, we can make the beach work. Oh, there isn’t a family/swimming beach on the property. There is one close by but had to pack up the family and kids which is an inconvenience. It isn’t very clear on the website either that you need to purchase a South Dakota State Park pass to stay at the resort. In fact, it isn’t clear on the website at all that half of the activities/play options aren’t actually nearby except the Marina. T
Furthest thing from a resort you can imagine. Room was dirty, towels were dirty, sink didn't drain, and air conditioner was erratic at best. Front check in area hadn't been cleaned or swept for weeks. Rental recreational equipment, i.e bikes, trikes, etc. were rusty and in obvious poor repair. Front desk staff had no knowledge of local area or Yankton. (one indicated she didn't live close and knew nothing of the area. ) Booked for two nights and requested refund for the second night. Was told the manager would get back to us. Of course, nothing. Management has no interest in guest accommodations, staff training, or maintenance of the facilities as witnessed by their lack of communication and action. Worst state resort we have stayed in and would recommend avoiding at all costs.
The location is awesome. The rooms are dated 1970s and spartan and crowded at best. The beautiful pool in the picture was a giant hole in the ground directly in front of our room. The people were amazing!
