Lazy "U" Motel

I was in need of a good nights sleep in Rapid City a cold November night and I came across “Lazy”. I was meet by the super kind hotel owner, who gave me a very warm welcome. Super helpful and great service. The rooms clean and quiet area, which ensured me a great night sleep. I can strongly recommend this place.

Great motel and owner - Troy. I picked the Lazy U based on reviews and it didn’t disappoint. The mattresses are brand new! Clean rooms, microwave, fridge and the cable works. New Owner, New Manger going to be some what the place just a newer look, on site manger and house keeper. rooms are now floor, beds and box springs are new. rooms are clean and safe. wifi, fridge and microwave, cable, ice machine, guest laundry,

I lived at the Lazy U 11 months, ending Oct. It's near my workplace. The price is too high for the old building and skeleton crew running the place. Book-keeping poor as 3 mgrs always asked me each week rent was due, "how much?". Compensation of $20 off 1 week's rent for over a week mid-winter without hot water was an insult. Mr. Zou, owner, approved of my behavior, and tolerance / pushback against crime & bad behavior by renters there. The new mgr, Troy, did not. His 'super friendly' demeanor is a facade! Troy's draconian restrictions appear to stem from paranoia and political prejudice - maybe bipolar syndrome. Drove me out! He denied right to put 'anything' in my window, recieve mail (that owner allowed), leave a used, yet rinsed & folded cleaning rag outside of my door for pickup, and

We stayed 3 months and got to know the owners. We have a 2yr old and he makes lots of noise but never got a complaint from our neighbors. Our price was pretty low for extended stay. The room had everything we needed medium size refrigerator, microwave and table. Although we got our room clean weekly, I was welcomed to borrow the vacuum to clean our room. The housekeeper was friendly and I am going to miss her. We had a wonderful stay away from home!
