Lava Mountain Lodge

My family and I recently stayed at the newly renovated Lava Mountain Lodge and was absolutely blown away! The rooms were comfortable, spotless, and beautifully updated. Parking was easy, the Wi-Fi was fast, and the amenities were incredibly convenient. The location is perfect—just minutes from the trails. The on-site restaurant, CD Trail Bar and Grill, was outstanding. Every dish we tried was delicious, and the nightly specials truly exceeded our expectations. The staff were friendly and the service was great. Having stayed at other lodges in the area, we were amazed by the value and exceptional service here. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING HERE!! If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would because they truly deserve it.

This place is a hidden gem that is highly underrated here on TripAdvisor. Let me tell you about my stay…||The food and service in the main lodge are fantastic! It’s a quaint little place with a souvenir shop and supplies along with a full bar and dining menu. Prime rib, fresh, homemade beignets, homemade potato salad…all wonderfully prepared. ||We dined the second night on the lodge patio and it was lovely! The view, the food, the weather…All servers were SO friendly. We ended up calling them by name like a friend. Note: The corporate people add a 20% tip to every bill, so watch that. We were fine with that and even tipped extra because they go above and beyond. ||The room was absolutely fine for the money we paid. Bathroom was small, but the vanity was outside the shower/ toilet area. It’

I stayed at this newly renovated lodge for a business retreat, and it exceeded every expectation. The upgrades throughout the property are truly impressive—modern, thoughtful, and beautifully executed. The cabins are cozy, comfortable, clean, and surprisingly spacious. The hospitality was outstanding. Every staff member we interacted with was warm, inviting, and genuinely eager to help. A special highlight was the new chef. We enjoyed some of the best meals —breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all exceptional. The lodge itself is stunning and offers the ideal setting for a peaceful getaway, whether for work or leisure. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a serene, beautifully updated place to stay with incredible food and service.

Awesome little place on an absolutely beautiful setting. The only downside is the cops that patrol this road run a little speed trap scam coming into Dubois and target tourists with out of state plates.

Our most sincere apologies to everyone!!! The lodge has been under new ownership since April of 2025 and New management since June 2025. The new owner has done a full remodel on all of the rooms, cabins, big house, restaurant and kitchen. The convenience store is about to be started. Please do not judge us on the past. Management is local and knows what the lodge was like back in the day. Not only are we striving to bring back the greatness that was, but to make it even better. We will give an update when the website is back up and running and all of our accommodations are available.
